Anti-RABV Drug Discovery Products

Rabies virus (RABV) belongs to the Lyssavirus genus within the Rhabdoviridae family. This virus is responsible for a deadly zoonotic disease that can affect a wide range of mammals, including humans. The rabies virus typically infects the central nervous system and always causes fatal disease. Transmission occurs through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, usually a carrier of the virus such as a rabid dog or bat.

The rabies virus is a bullet-shaped, enveloped RNA virus with 10-nm glycoprotein peplomers covering the surface. The viral genome is a single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) that encodes a polyprotein that is subsequently processed into different functional proteins. The genome is approximately 11kb in length and contains a single open reading frame (ORF) that is divided into five different regions: N, P, M, G, and L. These regions encode nucleoprotein, matrix protein, glycoprotein and large protein, respectively. At Creative Biolabs, we provide rabies virus research materials, including various anti-rabies virus antibody products, for researchers working to understand the pathogenesis of rabies and develop effective vaccines and antiviral measures.
