ViroProbe™ Chikungunya Virus NSP4 Probe, Sense C2
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. The probes can be designed to target the sense or antisense sequences. Standard probes for RNA detection are in antisense. Sense probe is reverse complement to the corresponding antisense probe. This Probe is specific for the detection of Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) NSP4 in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for CHIKV infection (Chikungunya) research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), an alphavirus of the Togaviridae family, is transmitted to humans and other amplifying hosts by Aedes mosquitoes. The virus is an RNA virus with a positive-sense single-stranded genome encoding polyprotein precursors of four nonstructural and six structural proteins. Chikungunya, which translates as "disease that bends up the joints," is characterized by an abrupt onset of fever, arthralgia and rash. CHIKV is believed to have originated in Africa, and has spread around the globe affecting millions of people. CHIKV has been categorized into three major lineages, each with a distinct genotype and antigenic character: West African, Asian, and East/Central/South/Africa (ECSA). |
