ViroProbe™ Fluorescein labeled HPV 16/18 Probe, 25 tests

This HPV 16/18 Probe is a mixture of HPV type 16/18 probes that detect HPV viral DNA in cultured cell lines, cytopathology specimens, and FFPE tissue sections. The probe is specific for the detection of HPV types that have been associated with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and carcinoma in situ (CIS). The probe can be used in in situ hybridization. The probe is for HPV infections research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Some HPV infections can stay in the body and lead to complications, including genital warts. HPV infection may also cause more serious conditions, such as certain types of cancer. The HPV type 16 and 18 are known to be responsible of 70% of cervical cancers and precancerous cervical lesions
