ViroProbe™ Digoxigenin-labeled HPV 6/11 Probe, 40 tests

This HPV 6/11 Probe is a mixture of HPV type 6 and type 11 probes. The probe is specific for the detection of HPV types that have been associated with benign lesions presenting as condylomas and mild dysplasia. The probe can be used for the qualitative detection of HPV 6/11 DNA in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens by chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH). The probe is for HPV research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a DNA virus from the Papillomaviridae family. They do not cause any problems in most case. Some HPV infections can stay in the body and lead to complications, including genital warts. HPV infection may also cause more serious conditions, such as certain types of cancer. HPV 6 and HPV 11 are low-risk types of HPV. HPV 6 and 11 are most often detected in benign condylomas and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions of the cervix.
