Retro-MERS-CoV ORF1 a/b & E & N Pseudovirus
MERS-CoV ORF1 a/b & E & N pseudovirus is generated by co-transfection 293T cells with retroviral vector and plasmid encoding partial ORF1 a/b, E and N genes of MERS-CoV. The supernatants were harvested at 64 hours post transfection. The supernatants are centrifuged to remove cell debris and passed through filter to get pseudovirus. The pseudovirus consists of retrovirus envelope and MERS-CoV ORF1 a/b & E & N. They can be used as a positive control for viral RNA extraction experiement and qPCR testing. Pseudoviruses are useful virological tools because of their safety and versatility.

Target Details
Introduction : | Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), caused by the MERS coronavirus (MERS-CoV), is one of six known human coronaviruses that cause respiratory disease in humans with a high mortality rate. It has a positive-sense single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) genome about 30-kb in size. MERS-CoV encodes the structural proteins spike (S), envelope (E), membrane (M), nucleocapsid (N), and five accessory proteins (ORF3, ORF4a, ORF4b, ORF5 and ORF8b) that are not required for genome replication but are likely involved in pathogenesis. |
Alternative Names : | MERS-CoV, MERS, S, Spike, Pseudovirus, ORF1 a/b & E & N Pseudovirus |
