ViroProbe™ Human Immunodeficiency Virus 2 non-gag/pol Probe-C2
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. This HIV2 probe is designed to target Human immunodeficiency virus 2 (HIV) RNA (non-gag/pol gene) and is specific for the detection of HIV2 in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for HIV2 infection research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. Two types of HIV have been characterized: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is more virulent and more infective than HIV-2, and is the cause of the majority of HIV infections globally. HIV2 is largely confined to West Africa where it is the dominant HIV and is divided into two main HIV-2 subtypes, A and B. HIV-2 is more than 55% genetically different from HIV-1. Both of them can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). |
Alternative Names : | Human immunodeficiency virus 2; HIV2 |
Virus Strain : | HIV-2UC1 |
