ViroProbe™ Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1/Clade B Gag-Pol Probe-Sense
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. The probes can be designed to target the sense or antisense sequences. Standard probes for RNA detection are in antisense. Sense probe is reverse complement to the corresponding antisense probe. This HIV1/Clade B Gag-Pol Sense probe is designed to target gag and pol RNA of Human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV)/Clade B and is specific for the detection of HIV1/Clade B in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for HIV infection research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the body's immune system and causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Two types of HIV have been characterized: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is more virulent and more infective than HIV-2, and is the cause of the majority of HIV infections globally. HIV-1 is further classified into four groups; M, N, O and P. Of these, group M is the most widespread worldwide. Group M is divided into nine distinct clades; A, B, C, D, F, G, H, J and K. Clade B is the most widespread HIV-1 variant. HIV-1 is a retrovirus, belonging to a group of heterogeneous, lipid-enveloped RNA viruses. Gag has demonstrated the ability to specifically recognize genomic RNA and both viral and host proteins as it traffics to the cell membrane. DNA polymerase (pol) integrates the DNA produced by reverse transcriptase into the host's genome. |
