ViroProbe™ Digoxigenin-labeled Epstein-Barr virus EBER Probe, 40 tests
This Epstein-Barr Virus probe is specific for the detection of Epstein-Barr Virus. The probe can be used for the detection of Epstein-Barr Virus EBER DNA in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens by chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH). The probe is for Epstein-Barr infections (such as infectious mononucleosis) research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), also known as human herpesvirus 4, is a member of the herpes virus family. It is estimated that up to 90 percent of the world's adult population has the EBV and most EBV infections aren't noticeable. EBV infection can range from asymptomatic to infectious mononucleosis and the EBV is also closely associated to several types of cancer. About 200,000 cancer cases globally per year are thought to be attributable to EBV. |
