ViroProbe™ Canine Herpesvirus 1 Base Probe
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. The Base specific probe is designed to detect the nucleotide difference in the single cell including splice variants, short/highly homologous RNA sequences, and point mutations. Canine Herpesvirus 1 Base Probe is specific for the detection of thymidine kinase-strand gene of Canine Herpesvirus 1 (CHV-1) in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for CHV-1 infections research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Canine herpesvirus (CHV), also named anid alphaherpesvirus 1 (CaHV-1), is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus in the family Herpesviridae. Thymidine kinase (TK) genes are virulence-related genes and are nonessential for viral replication. CHV infects only canids. CHV1 causes a variety of diseases in dogs and infected dogs remain latent carriers for life. CHV can cause a variety of symptoms, that adds to the difficulty in recognising this disease. CHV infection cause a rapidly progressive and fatal multisystemic disease (including fatal hemorrhagic disease) in neonatal puppies, while generally produces mild clinical signs in adult male dogs, limited to the respiratory or genital tract. |
