ViroProbe™ Canine Herpesvirus 1 Probe
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. Canine Herpesvirus 1 Probe is specific for the detection of thymidine kinase gene of Canine Herpesvirus 1 (CHV-1) in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for CHV-1 infections research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Canine herpesvirus (CHV), also named anid alphaherpesvirus 1 (CaHV-1), is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus in the family Herpesviridae. Thymidine kinase (TK) genes are virulence-related genes and are nonessential for viral replication. CHV infects only canids. CHV1 causes a variety of diseases in dogs and infected dogs remain latent carriers for life. CHV can cause a variety of symptoms, that adds to the difficulty in recognising this disease. CHV infection cause a rapidly progressive and fatal multisystemic disease (including fatal hemorrhagic disease) in neonatal puppies, while generally produces mild clinical signs in adult male dogs, limited to the respiratory or genital tract. |
