ViroProbe™ Bovine Papillomavirus E5 Probe
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. This probe is specific for the detection of Bovine Papillomavirus E5 RNA in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for BPV infections (including bovine papillomatosis) research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

| Introduction : | Bovine papillomavirus (BPV) is a small circular double-stranded DNA genome virus that belongs to Papillomaviridae family, which presents tropism for epithelial and mucous tissues. BPV is the etiological agent of bovine papillomatosis, infectious and neoplastic disease characterized by the presence of multiples papillomas that can regress spontaneously or progress to malignance in the presence of co-factors. To date, 15 BPV genotypes have been associated with skin and mucosal tumors in cattle, and out of these, only four types (BPV-1, -2, -5 and -13) cross-infect other species. BPV also has served as an excellent model for the study of human PVs. |
