This HPV6 Probe is specific for the detection of HPV6 that has been associated with benign lesions presenting as condylomas and mild dysplasia. The probe can be used in a variety of hybridization techniques. The probe is for HPV research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a DNA virus from the Papillomaviridae family. They do not cause any problems in most case. Some HPV infections can stay in the body and lead to complications, including genital warts. HPV infection may also cause more serious conditions, such as certain types of cancer. HPV 6 and HPV 11 are low-risk types of HPV. HPV 6 and 11 are most often detected in benign condylomas and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions of the cervix.
