Lenti-HIV-1 gp140 Pseudovirus [β-Galactosidase, MLV Packaging System]

HIV-1 gp140 pseudovirus is produced by transfecting 293T cells with HIV-1 gp140 expression plasmids and FLY-HIV-87-GFP. Pseudovirus-containing supernatant was harvested 48 h following transfection. The supernatant was cleared of cell debris by centrifugation and filtered through a 0.45-μm-pore-size filter. The produced pseudoviruses carry HIV-1 gp140 proteins, which is a powerful tool for HIV-1 vaccine and entry inhibitor research.

Target Details

Introduction : Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can be divided into two major types, HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is the most common and pathogenic strain of the virus. The HIV-1 env gene encodes the gp160 glycoprotein, which is subsequently cleaved into the envelope proteins gp120 and gp41. gp120 is the viral surface protein that mediates attachment of the virus to target cells via binding to the CD4 receptor and a co-receptor such as CCR5. gp41 is a transmembrane protein that mediates fusion of the viral and cellular lipid membranes once gp120 has bound its cognate receptor and co-receptor.
Alternative Names : HIV; HIV-1; AIDS; gp140; Env polyprotein; Pseudovirus; Envelope glycoprotein gp140; Envelope surface glycoprotein gp140;
