Overview
Dengue virus (DENV, shown in Fig.1) can cause dengue fever. It is a mosquito-borne, single positive-stranded RNA virus of Flaviviridae. There are four serotypes, including DENV 1, DENV 2, DENV 3, and DENV 4. In recent decades, the outbreak of dengue has grown dramatically in the world. Nowadays, dengue is endemic in more than 100 countries. The America, South-East Asia and Western Pacific regions are the most seriously affected. One of them, Asia represents 70% of the global burden of dengue fever. It is estimated that as many as 390 million infections occur every year, and many dengue infections are increasingly understood to be asymptomatic or subclinical. As a leading virology antibody provider, Creative Biolabs offers a various series of virology antibody services, such as discovery, development, customized services to help our customers achieve their research goals.

Types of Dengue Virus
DENV can be divided into four types, named DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4. Each has different interactions with the antibodies in human blood serum. They share approximately 65% of their genomes but even within a single serotype, there is some genetic variation. Although these variations, infection with each of the dengue serotypes leads to the same disease and range of clinical symptoms.
Proteins of Dengue Virus
DENV contains three structural proteins: capsid, the major envelope protein, and either prM-in immature virions or M-in mature virions. E is the viral haemagglutinin, which mediates both receptor binding and acid pH-dependent fusion activity after uptake by receptor-mediated endocytosis. Seven nonstructural proteins are synthesized in infected cells and listed in Table 1. and shown in Fig.2. These proteins can be the target in designing the dengue virus antibodies, see our dengue virus antibodies.
