Target Details

Full Name : Alpaca Polyomavirus
Target Region : 5-984
Introduction : Polyomaviruses, belonging to the family Polyomaviridae, are a group of small, nonenveloped, double-stranded, circular DNA viruses. They have been isolated from a wide array of animal hosts. Most mammalian polyomaviruses do not directly cause severe acute disease in infected hosts. Polyomaviruses induce a wide variety of tumours in newborn animals of some species. Alpaca polyomavirus was detected in a 6-month old female alpaca (Vicugna pacos) euthanized after a diagnosis of disseminated lymphosarcoma. Alpaca polyomavirus has a potential contribution to respiratory disease.
Alternative Names : Alpaca Polyomavirus; Polyomavirus; PyV
