I ordered the Mouse Anti-Atlantic Cod Nodavirus VNN antibody and will test it in immunohistochemistry analysis with histological sections of the brain from Atlantic cod. Hope it will work well.

Target Research Highlights
Viral nervous necrosis (VNN) caused by betanodavirus affects many species of farmed marine fish, in particular juveniles. Nodavirus-provoked cell death and inflammation were detected in eye and brain, particularly in the retina and cerebellum of Atlantic cod during clinical stages of VNN. Virus was detected both by PCR and immunohistochemistry. Macroscopic examination allows only the detection of a dilated swim bladder, which is not specific to VNN. RPE cells dominate the initial reactive response as additional mononuclear inflammatory cells were seen in retina and choroid in areas that did not stain for nodavirus by IHC. The apparently increased numbers of prominent vessels, proliferation of cells in cords and a thinner molecular layer also indicate chronic changes in these cod. The study about Atlantic Cod Nodavirus VNN may help reveal the pathogenesis of this disease, including the development and possible regeneration of the brain and eye lesions.
