ViroProbe™ SIV(mac239) Rev-Env Probe
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. The probes can be designed to target the sense or antisense sequences. Standard probes for RNA detection are in antisense. Sense probe is reverse complement to the corresponding antisense probe. This probe is designed to target simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) rev and env RNA in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for SIV infection research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

| Introduction : | Simian immunodeficiency viruses (SIVs) are members of the genus Lentivirus and the family Retroviridae and cause incessant infections in about 45 African non-human primate species. SIVs are the source of the human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV-1 and HIV-2). SIV strains may cause an AIDS-like immune deficiency known as SAIDS (simian acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) if they cross species boundaries. SIVmac239 is a highly pathogenic strain of SIVs and SIVmac239 infection of macaques is a favored model of human HIV infection. |
