ViroProbe™ Cercopithecine Herpesvirus 9 Probe
Creative Biolabs provides probes that can amplify target-specific signals and detect RNA target expression with high sensitivity and specificity. This Probe is specific for the detection of Cercopithecine Herpesvirus 9 (CeHV-9) ORF61 in cellular and tissue environments. The probe can be used in situ hybridization. The probe is for CeHV-9 infections research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis.

Introduction : | Cercopithecine herpesvirus 9 (CeHV-9), also named simian varicella virus (SVV), is a member of the Alphaherpesvirinae in the genus Varicellovirus. The virus causes a naturally occurring exanthematous disease similar to human varicella. After resolution of the primary disease, CeHV-9 establishes latent infection in neural ganglia. Stress or immunosuppression may induce viral reactivation. CeHV-9 infects primates and shares clinical, pathological, immunological, and virological features with varicella-zoster virus infection of humans. CeHV-9 infection of nonhuman primates is a useful model for study of varicella pathogenesis and development of antiviral therapies. |
Alternative Names : | Cercopithecine herpesvirus 9; CeHV-9; simian varicella virus; SVV |
